Abstract

Hypothesis tests are introduced. The concepts of significance level and p-value are introduced. Tests concerning the mean of a normal population are studied, both when the population variance is assumed known and when it isn't. It is also shown how to test hypotheses concerning the means of two normal populations. Tests related to binomial and to Poisson populations are given. It is show how R can be utilized when testing a hypothesis.
