Abstract
Random variables, which are quantities whose values are determined by the outcome of an experiment, are introduced. Discrete and continuous random variables are studied. The expected value and variance of a random variable are defined, and their properties studied. The joint distribution of a pair of random variables is studied. Laws of large numbers are presented.
