Abstract

The passion fruit (Passiflora edulis Sims) is intensively cultivated as a fruit crop in tropical and subtropical countries. Viral diseases, viz. passion fruit woodiness disease, cucumber mosaic virus, passion fruit green spot virus, passion fruit yellow mosaic virus, passion fruit latent virus, and Passiflora vein clearing virus are the most important challenges for passion fruit production. Here, we describe the main viruses that infect the passion fruit plant and the control measures available.
