Abstract

This chapter first introduces the concept of the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) Model to academic and research library professionals. It starts with its relationship to Michael Porter's Value Chain Model. It then provides a literature review on the adoption of the Supply Chain Management in the libraries. Finally, this chapter maps the SCOR Level-One Processes into Library high-level Collection Processes. The goal of this chapter is to create a framework based on SCOR for developing the concept of the Supply Chain for Collection Services in later chapters.
