Abstract

Gas reservoir model is the basis for gas reservoir development, well-pattern deployment, and development and adjustment. Special internal structure, reservoir characteristics, and fluid distribution in volcanic gas reservoirs account for special volcanic reservoir models. Based on reservoir genesis and quality, trap type, and fluid property classification, this chapter elaborates the methods to establish structural model, reservoir framework model, reservoir attribute model, and fluid model. A framework modeling method based on volcanic eruption cycles, volcanic structures, volcanic massifs, volcanic facies, and storage-seepage patterns was established for the first time. Fractural network model and fractural attribute modeling techniques including fractural conductivity in volcanic gas reservoirs were proposed. The fluid model including gas-water distribution, fluid composition, matrix, and fractural fluid was established reflecting characteristics of volcanic reservoirs and showing reservoir model application in geological reserve evaluation, well-location optimization, horizontal well trajectory optimization as well as gas reservoir engineering optimization.
