Abstract
High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is a mature analytical technique that is used for the separation, detection, and, most often, quantitation of target compounds in complex matrices. This technique is used in a wide range of laboratories across many fields. In this chapter, the essential HPLC components and general instrumental layout are reviewed.
