Abstract

The effects of α-linolenic acid and γ-linolenic acid on autoimmune-prone mice were discussed. The serum immune-related factors, that is, anti-dsDNA autoantibody, rheumatoid factor antibody, and cytokines, administered by both free fatty acids and the oils containing equal amounts of them, were measured. From these results, it was considered that the effect of α-linolenic acid is favorable for the health status of the mouse.
