Abstract

A key component to the success of zebrafish laboratories is having healthy colonies that spawn well, and providing researchers with the embryos necessary for their research. As laboratories and facilities grow larger, the importance of having well-managed colonies becomes critical. This chapter will review the logistics and physiology of breeding zebrafish in the laboratory, as well as reviewing the challenges and solutions used to manage zebrafish colonies.
