Abstract

Sowing time is defined according to a set of environmental factors, by reacting with each other and interacting with the plant. In this study, four trials were carried out in the agricultural years of 2017/18 and 2018/19 and sowing times, December 7th and January 22nd with 11 different soybean cultivars in Palmas (TO), aiming at the production of oil for biodiesel. The experimental design used in each trial was randomized block design with 11 treatments (cultivars) and three replications. The studied characteristics were oil content and oil yield. Higher temperatures and lower average rainfall contributed to increased oil content in the seeds. The higher oil yield, in turn, was due to a better distribution of rainfall and the occurrence of milder temperatures. Cultivar NS 7505 IPRO for oil content and CERTA IPRO and DM 81I84 IPRO for oil yield were the best cultivars for biofuel production.
