Abstract

Pure oxygen injection into blast air is introduced in the bottom and top segment matrices. Mass flows between the segments are calculated. The impact on the top gas enthalpy balance and top gas temperature is described. Oxygen enrichment decreases the top temperature due to less hot nitrogen rising from the bottom segment. Top charged carbon-in-coke consumption increases slightly as a result.
