Abstract
This chapter deals with the morphogenetic changes brought upon by C. albicans after infecting the host. An account of various host–pathogen interactions is included. The immunological response of host cells postinfection is categorized and well described. We have included major events during the process of attack and infection and its response by host’s immune system. This mostly includes the innate and adaptive immune response as well as cell-mediated occurrence. Delayed-type hypersensitivity and TH cell activity play a key role in Candida–Human cellular interaction.
