Abstract
This chapter discusses the benefits of behavior analysts conducting and disseminating research within service settings including strategies to overcome perceived and realistic performance barriers. Building leadership support for applied research, merging research and practice, establishing research teams, forming research review committees, following plans that improve writing and public speaking skills, and incentivizing research among the workforce are recommended. Strategic progress monitoring to evaluate research productivity and social validity assessment of practitioner approval and satisfaction are also necessary.
