Abstract

Forensic victimology is not limited only to use in criminal investigations and the resulting criminal trials. It also serves an important role in civil litigation. This chapter is aimed at educating the reader regarding the contributions that forensic criminology and victimology can make in civil litigations. Specifically, it focuses on negligent security issues and premises liability, as these are most commonly associated with violent crime victims seeking compensation.
