Abstract
This chapter gives an overview of past and current innovation in research and development in the field of green energy and technology toward the environmental sustainability. Here the main focus is on few components (i.e., solar energy, fuel cell, hydrogen energy, batteries, etc.) of renewable energy and its advantages in the world of globalization. Considering this future perspective of advanced environment-friendly nanomaterials, here the current problems and alternative solution for energy and related technology have been discussed. Hence, ultimately the aim is to develop an energy-efficient and nontoxic material for the application of energy storage and energy conversion. This chapter begins with detailed introduction about the need of renewable energy for the betterment of mankind and also gives a review of the current scope and the future substitute of energy to save our planet environment by reducing the level of pollutants.
