Abstract

Humanity’s concern regarding various and complex hard tissue disorders has been transformed into a real field of interest since ancient times. The continuous struggle to achieve functional restoration, structural and functional recovery, or even complete replacement of the afflicted tissue led to the development of various therapeutic approaches and medical techniques. Considering the current challenge related to osseous tissue diseases—due to etiological variety and human genetic complexity—and the impressive progress reported in new technologies and modern healthcare practice, the present chapter proposes a circumstantial overview with respect to the current trends in hard tissue implant therapy.
