Abstract
The increasing production and application of engineered nanomaterials (NMs) over the past decade lead to their release into aquatic and environmental systems and thereby cause exposure to aquatic organisms, resulting in growing environmental and human health concerns. The concerns over environmental health are a direct consequence of the interaction of NMs used in biomedical applications, sustainable agriculture (nanofertilizers, nanopesticides including nanoherbicides), consumer products, and in several other fields. This chapter deals with exposures of environmental and eco-system, hazards, and risks associated with the use of nanoparticles/NMs in our day-to-day life.
