Abstract

This chapter discusses the potential impact of rapidly changing climatic and demographic factors on constraints on crop production and food security. Increased sources of, and analyses of, molecular data on plant stresses and development of new technologies should be useful in mitigating these constraints. However, this rapidly changing situation may challenge current risk assessment and management approaches.
