Abstract

Abstract In this article the fact that the revolution of business process reengineering was not widely implemented, and that many efforts failed is recalled. two major reasons in favor of reengineering old economy information systems are: keeping pace with technology advances and improving business processes. how business processes always traditionally aligned with the technological waves of batch‐oriented information systems and client/server systems, and in the future can align with Web‐based architectures is ultimated. Then how corporations can align their businesses to the information technology of the twenty‐first century: by revolution or by evolution is discussed. When the technological infrastructure is in place, new business processes can emerge. Technology drives business change, and that business (process) reengineering follows software reengineering is stressed.
