Abstract

This article presents a new species for the fauna of the Republic of Moldova – Brenthis daphne (Bergsträsser, 1780) (Lepidoptera: Papilionoidea), which was reported in the center and northwest of the country. Genus Brenthis was recorded for the first time in the country in 2014, being represented by B. ino – an endangered species in the European fauna. Thus, the genus Brenthis includes two of the three species known in Europa and the number of species from the Nymphalidae family identified on the territory of the Republic of Moldova reached 61.
