Abstract

Concentration, centralization and combination characterize the development of the heat supply in the USSR. The degree of concentration of heat consumption that is forecast significantly exceeds the optimum centralization (in terms of unit calorific value) of heat sources using organic fuel. The capital intensiveness of heating networks is increasing, as is their influence on the decisions taken in respect to the system as a whole.
