Abstract

"Backward Design is a lesson plan format or process that has teachers first define the final learning goal or purpose (objective) of a lesson or course. Then, teachers will plan an assessment to measure student achievement of the objective(s). With the lesson goal and assessment as the focus, learning activities can then be organized to support student achievement. This process is organized into three stages. Bloom’s taxonomy is based upon the idea that there are levels of observable actions that indicate something is happening in the brain (cognitive activity)."
