Abstract
August Cieszkowski was a well-educated man, philosopher, landowner, patriot. Author of publications in Polish, German, French and Latin. Three times president of the Poznań Society of Friends of Science, member of the Prussian Parliament, one of the founders of the Polish National League. The Count August Cieszkowski was an inhabitant of Wielkopolska, who based his life on values and tried to pass them on to others. This article presents his pedagogical views on different levels of education. He dealt with, among others, orphanages for children, agricultural clubs and higher education.
