Abstract

OZET: Atiklarin tarim, ormancilik ve islah amacli kullanimi gerek toprak verimliliginin artirilmasi gerekse de toprak koruma acisindan oldukca onemlidir. Atiklarin tarimda kullanilmasi bu malzemelerin ekonomik olarak degerlendirilmesinin yani sira cevre uzerine olan olumsuz etkilerini de minimize edecektir. Atiklarin yeni kirliliklere yol acmadan degerlendirilmesi, ekosistemin islevselliginin on kosuludur. Aritma camurlari bunyelerinde buyuk oranda organik madde ve bitki besin elementi iceren yogun bir suspansiyondur. Aritma camurlari icerisindeki makro bitki besin elementlerine ilave olarak bitki gelismesi icin gerekli olan mikro besin elementlerini de icermektedirler. Ham camurlarin tarim alanlarina yararli ve cevreye uyumlu bir sekilde uygulanmasi icin stabilize edilmeleri bir zorunluluktur. Ham camurlar ancak stabilize edildikten sonra aritma camuru olarak isimlendirilirler. Stabilizasyon islemi ise hic kuskusuz hem yatirim maliyetini hem de isletme masrafini artiran bir girdi olarak karsimiza cikmakta ve bircok isletme tarafindan goz ardi edilmektedir. Bu derleme aritma camurlarinin mevcut stabilizasyon yontemlerine alternatif olarak ongorulen, daha ekonomik ve her isletmenin kolayca yapabilecegi vermistabilizasyon yontemini irdelemek amaciyla hazirlanmistir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Aritma camuru; stabilizasyon; vermistabilizasyon An Alternative Approach to the Stabilization of Sewage Sludge: Vermistabilization ABSTRACT: The use of wastes in agriculture, forestry and land reclamation is increasingly being identified as an important issue for soil fertility and conservation. Using wastes in agriculture not only helps to dispose these materials economically, but also reduces negative effects of them on environment. Evaluation of waste for not to cause new pollutions, is a prerequisite for the functioning of ecosystem. Sewage sludge is a concentrated suspension of solids, largely composed of organic matter and nutrient-laden organic solids. In addition to major plant nutrients in its content, sewage sludge also contains trace elements that are essential for plant growth. To ensure the application of sludge onto agricultural lands in a beneficial and environmen­tally acceptable manner, stabilization is a must. The raw sludge is named as sewage sludge only after stabilization process. Stabilization of sludge undoubtedly increases both the investment and cost operations of the treatment plants and ignored by many treatment plants. This study was prepared to evaluate effectiveness of an economic and easy stabilization method, vermistabilization, as an alternative to the existing sludge stabilization methods.
