Abstract

Recently, the finite difference time domain (FDTD) technique has been extended to study the dispersion characteristics of cylindrical transmission lines containing isotropic multilayered dielectrics. In this paper, the FDTD technique, in cylindrical coordinates is extended to study the dispersion characteristics of cylindrical lines that might contain magnetized ferrite. media. The magnetization could be in the longitudinal or azimuthal directions. This extension of the cylindrical FDTD parallels the extended rectangular FDTD algorithm. Results for cylindrical microstrip line printed on a ferrite substrate are included and compared to those of a planar structure.
