Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for compiling basic science learning books based on Science, Environment, Technology, Society (SETS). The needs analysis method uses the Thiagarajan 4D development model at the definition stage, with the subject being students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FPISH) who have taken Basic Natural Science courses at IKIP Budi Utomo. The data collection method was carried out by observing directly during lectures and also distributing google forms in the form of questions containing learning resources, methods used in learning, test forms, and also the expected learning books for students. The results of the questionnaire analysis showed that 100% of students needed and agreed with the development of textbooks based on Science, Environment, Technology, Society (SETS).
