Abstract

This study analyzed Internet comment discourse on ‘AI images’ using generative artificial intelligence to find out what subjective perceptions and meanings actual recipients share and how they form discourse. We also sought to gain understanding for the development of convergent knowledge in the design field. To this end, text analysis, discourse performance analysis, and sociocultural practice analysis were conducted according to Fairclough's critical discourse analysis method. As a result, the 'AI image discourse' in our society competes with the 'discourse of fear' created by the media and the 'discourse of expectations' created by recipients, and at the base of it, the 'discourse of artistry' centered on criticism of modern art coexists. was able to find out, and based on this, implications and implications were revealed.
