Abstract

The Faculty of Law of the University of Barcelona receives every year a high and increasing number of foreign students, in the Socrates–Erasmus Programme as well as in the modality of free movers. They normally have a strong interest in learning Spanish law but that can be sometimes very difficult in the framework of the courses that the faculty offers for two reasons: first, because often the students come to the faculty for a semi‐annual exchange which does not allow them to be registered in whole year subjects, which are the core ones; second, because many of the offered subjects usually rest on previous training that the exchange students obviously don't have. The solution to these problems has come with a programme of introduction to Spanish law that allow these students a basic but structured and specific knowledge of Spanish law as they have juridical background but they hardly know a word of Spanish law.
