Abstract
Inevitably, initiatives which increase the period of teacher trainees' in-school practice also decrease time for on-course sessions such as lectures, seminars and workshops. Coverage of information technology could be adversely affected unless strategies are planned toward this contingency. This paper outlines a survey of a teacher training course which explored strategies of information technology profiling by trainees, the loan of laptop computers to trainees and teacher-mentoring of trainees in-school practice.
