Abstract

As an essential part of the application field of translation, translation quality assessment (TQA) is greatly useful in standardizing the translation market, improving translation quality, and promoting translation teaching. This paper explores different kinds of TQA models chronologically from the qualitative and quantitative perspectives, respectively, and points out some problems in current studies on TQA in China. The author, based on the new trends in translation theory and application, proposes three new directions in TQA model research and underlines the positive influence of some language ability scales on the construction and improvement of TQA models.
