Abstract

If the title of this column didn’t turn you off immediately and you’ve read this far, I’ll state the obvious: the amount of campaign money needed for state and national offices is obscene, and the lawful concealment of certain contributors’ identities is ludicrous. However, as a veteran of 5 successful elections over the past 11 years I also know that money is absolutely necessary to get your message out to voters so you can win. Fundraising is not always about outraising your opponent, but is always about having the resources needed for a credible and—hopefully—successful campaign.
