Abstract

AbstractAccording to the tilted incidence characteristics of thin film narrowband filter, a stack of 100‐GHz DWDM four cavities angle‐tuned narrowband thin‐film filter with low polarization dependent loss has been designed and optimized. Using the angle‐tuned filter, we developed a novel three‐port tunable optical filter. The crosstalk of the tunable filter is analyzed and calculated in detail, and the theoretical analysis result coincides with experimental result. The experiments show that the three‐port tunable filter with low polarization dependent loss has an effective tunable range of 26 nm, and it has a bright application opportunity for its flexibility and effective performance. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
