Abstract

Drymaeus nigroflavus is a newly described species found in the region of Itapebi, Bahia, Brazil, near the Jequitinhonha River. This species is characterized by its whitish shell adornedwith dark, spiral bands that are uniform and spaced apart. Its genital system exhibits a veryshort penis and bursa copulatrix, as well as a spermoviduct with a wide, coiled uterus and a verynarrowprostate, among other anatomical idiosyncrasies.
