Abstract
This chapter discusses the hardware structure of the data acquisition and control unit (DACU) along with its basic modules (rack and bus), functional modules (power supply, processor, memory, watchdog, various input/output modules, and communication), and system cables for all functional modules. The chapter also discusses the self-supervision aspects of the DACU, integrated processor module, and integrated DACU. The chapter concludes with a brief discussion on data exchange over the bus and various types of DACU construction.
