Abstract
Mechanical properties are one of the most important properties in the study of MESMs. Three typical experimental methods were detailed introduced for testing mechanical properties of MESMs, namely quasistatic compression test, SHPB compression experiments, and flyer impact experiments. The experimental setup, deformation and fracture mode, as well as typical measured stress profiles are all discussed with specific examples.
