Abstract

This chapter deals with data collection and analysis connected to energy auditing. The chapter also adress very well the demand that an on-site energy manager may have related to measuring energy-related data. Practical issues about data collection and measurement are addressed, benefits and problems with data logging are reviewed, as well as possible parameters to measure in order to map and analyze energy use. An example of a measurement case is also provided. Finally, some examples of basic calculations and analysis of graphs are presented. The focus of this last part is primarily on electricity.
