Abstract

The following three characteristic temperatures are important in dam engineering: (1) The placing temperature Tp which is the starting point for the variation of temperature in a concrete structure. (2) The maximum temperature Tp+Tr, where Tr is the temperature rise due to hydration heat of cement. (3) The steady temperature Tf which is the final state of temperature in a concrete dam.
