Abstract

Any drawing that contains a circle viewed from anywhere but head-on requires the construction of an ellipse. In isometric drawing, ellipses are a common feature, and AutoCAD provides a special option of the ELLIPSE command to perform this. The AutoCAD ELLIPSE command has four methods of defining an ellipse. Polylines are a special AutoCAD feature, which enable the drawing of a series of interconnected lines and/or arcs. One interesting facility of the PEDIT command fits a smooth curve to a series of lines/arcs that comprise a polyline. This could be particularly useful for operations like plotting contours. A Doughnut is two circles with the same center point but different radii. The space between the two circles is filled in if the FILL option is ON.
