Abstract

This chapter provides hands-on instructions for setting up working IPv6 security solutions, from IPv4/IPv6 packet-filtering firewalls on Solaris and FreeBSD to configuring IPsec support and TCP wrappers on Solaris. It describes the way an IPF-based IPv6-capable firewall can be obtained, built, installed, configured, and operated on Sun Solaris 8. IPv6 router concepts are discussed. Once the security systems are in place and routing is live, applications like DNS and email can be rolled out.
