Abstract
Intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT) is the delivery of radiation at the time of operation in patients at high risk for harboring residual disease following resection. The role of IORT been explored across many tumor types and its use in clinical practice is increasing. This chapter reviews the biology, rationale, underlying data, and varying techniques of IORT.
