Abstract
To assist in the development of cost effective management strategies for deteriorating reinforced concrete structures, Mott, Hay & Anderson have been developing tests to quantify the amount of damage within the concrete. This paper reports one such test, the Stiffness Damage Test (SDT), developed to assess the change in the stress/strain response of concrete damaged by alkali aggregate reaction (AAR) or overstress from impact, thermal or other loadings.
