Abstract
With concrete construction techniques monitoring the in-situ performance of full scale structures still remains the only way of determining their ability to meet their design requirements today or at any time in the future. This paper describes some methods chosen to examine the early life of this particular structure. The ability to monitor settlement, deflection, strain and temperature during the construction period and on subsequent loading led to the application of a range of instrumentation where often only one system would be used.
