Abstract

Criteria and methods were elaborated for estimating the corrosion stability of structures made of passive metals in the field of external currents of anodic and cathodic directions. The criteria are based on empirical parameters known or accessible for measurement and control and can be used for estimation by computer the metal corrosion state of a structure and to predict the working reliability of the structure. Practical steps and examples for a corrosion stability estimation of structures in the form of tubes of different types are given.
