Abstract

Mass-separated samples of the new nuclides 120Cd and 122Cd have been produced by the ISOLDE-facility. The half-life of 120Cd is 50·80 ± 0·21 sec and that of 122Cd is 5·78 ± 0·09 sec. The decays of these nuclides feed low-spin isomers of 120In (> 99·9 per cent) and 122In (> 99·4 per cent) only. The half-life of 120In is 3·08 ± 0·08 sec and that of 122In is ⩽ 1·5 sec. Energies and intensities of γ-rays associated with the decays of the Cd-isotopes and their In daughters have been measured, and proposed partial decay schemes are presented.
