Польська термінологія на позначення радянського тоталітарного режиму: волинський текст (на матеріалах рубрики „Оcaleni od zapomnienia” двомовного видання „Волинський монітор”)

Abstract

The article highlights the problems and methods of translating the terminology used to denote the Soviet period and methods of its translation from Ukrainian to Polish. The work reveals the concept of the “Soviet totalitarian regime” and “terminology of the Soviet period”, analyses the presence of such vocabulary in the biweekly newspaper Volyn Monitor and presents the most popular difficulties faced by a linguist during translation. Various options for translating the researched terminology are proposed in view of the need to use synonymous vocabulary.
