The article presents the history of the archaeological study of the sites of the Scythian-Saka time in the 1930s during the road construction works of the Chuisky tract. An important role was played by the research and excavations of the Sayano-Altai expedition of the State Historical Museum (SHM) and the State Academy of the History of Material Culture (SAHMC) under the leadership of S.V.
