Abstract

The purpose of this study is to conduct a phenomenological study by finding out the meaning through the experiences of the star-wave drawing test(SWT) of job burnout child care teachers in the COVID-19 pandemic. 10 child care teachers who took care of infants and toddlers were selected and 'intentional sampling' was conducted as a childcare program at S workplace daycare center located in Seoul. (SWT) The participants were divided into two groups, A and B, and a star-wave drawing test(SWT) was conducted to see depression and anxiety, and individual interviews and group in-depth counseling were conducted. As a qualitative research, van Manen's hermeneutic and phenomenological research method was conducted to study the essence of the phenomenon, and 681 units of individual meaning of the research participants were derived. 6 essential themes and 18 common parent themes were derived. The research participants showed the conflict and loneliness felt unconsciously in the COVID-19 pandemic, the burden of the work of childcare teachers to do, and felt a sense of loss in the situation where they could not do their job. The experience of the Star-Wave drawing Test(SWT) relieved the difficulties of job burnout and gave psychological stability. Suggestions for phenomenological research on the experience of the star-wave drawing test(SWT) were discussed, and the significance of the study and suggestions for follow-up studies were made.
