Abstract

The problems of re-socialization and social adaptation of convicts to imprisonment currently remain unresolved. The re–socialization of convicts in correctional institutions is a long and complex process, which is based on a complex of psychological, pedagogical, socio-economic, medical and organizational measures aimed at forming convicts' ability and readiness to return to normal life in freedom after release. It is necessary to improve the forms and methods of educational work with convicts in correctional institutions, to improve their legal culture, to provide them with legal assistance. It also requires a professional approach to the organization of the educational process of convicts, involving them in socially useful work. The article discusses various points of view regarding the concept and essence of the resocialization of convicts, some problematic stages of the resocialization of convicts in correctional institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Ryazan region, formulated proposals aimed at improving the effectiveness of this activity.
