Abstract

The article discusses various approaches to assessing the reliability of testimony and their place in investigative and judicial proceedings in Germany, where forensic psychological examination of the reliability of testimony has been one of the recognized types of examination since 1954. A brief description of the methodological principles of Statement Validity Assessment as a methodology, which is now the basis of forensic psychological examination of the reliability of testimony in Germany, is given.
