Abstract
The aim of the study is to assess the methodological potential of an integrative literature course aimed at developing general cultural competence (GCC) among students receiving secondary vocational illiberal education (SVE). The article describes the specifics of teaching literature in secondary vocational education, systematizes the ideas about general cultural competence, and suggests the forms of classes and techniques that contribute to the development of individual components of the general cultural competence. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the development of the theoretical and methodological foundations of the integrative literature course in order to develop the general cultural competence of students receiving secondary vocational education. As a result, it was proved that the introduction of the integrative literature course, developed on the basis of an inductive approach, into the educational process contributes to the effective development of the level of general cultural competence of students’ secondary vocational education.
