Abstract
The purpose of this article is to talk about the formation of a collection of books printed by Kirill in the library of the Moscow Theological Academy after its opening in 1946. It became possible to see the process of creating the collection thanks to the information contained in the inventory books of the MDA library, as well as notes, stamps, bookplates and ownership records in the ancient books themselves. To solve this problem, it was necessary to look through and photograph several dozen books of the Kirill seal located in the ancient storage of the library, decipher some insert notes, stamps, seals, etc., and find possible information about the depositors. Particular attention was paid to the Gospels. As a result, using the example of printed Gospels, we have an idea of a unique collection of Cyrillic books of the 16th–20th centuries.
